What is Queer Art Club?

The North Carolina Queer Art Club was created in April 2021 by a group of creative LGBTQ+ individuals who felt there was a desperate need for reconnection, inspiration, and community in light of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Founder Bailey “B” Kennedy started by inviting queer & artsy friends over to her home once a month to create art and catch up - it was so successful that word got around and more and more people wanted to attend.

Before long it became necessary to meet in a larger space than B’s 1-bedroom apartment, so they coordinated with the North Carolina Museum of Art to start hosting monthly public meetings there.

What began as something casual has evolved into a public event where members of the LGBTQIA+ community can meet up, make friends, and engage in all kinds of creative expression in an accessible, free, and safe space.
